About Us

Reigning Scarlet is a genre-defying rock band formed at Boston College in 2022, united by a love of bold experimentation and raw, honest songwriting. Bonded by a shared background as misfits, artists, and lifelong music nerds, we draw inspiration from a wildly diverse mix of influences — from post-punk and shoegaze to neoclassical metal, grunge, and experimental soundscapes.

Rather than chasing trends or algorithms, we aim to create music that is emotionally real and creatively fearless. As our producer once said, “this band shouldn't work — but it does.” Over the past few years, our group has performed at venues across Boston including Faneuil Hall and The Silhouette, and won Boston College's annual Battle of the Bands.

Our debut album, Midnight Carnival, is a concept-driven, genre-bending journey through the turbulence of young adulthood — a sonic love letter to the chaos and beauty of growing up. Spanning twelve tracks and three years of intense collaboration, the album channels the band's vision into a deeply personal and unpredictable musical experience.
